You may have noticed by now that I’m predisposed to studies of Esoterica.
1. a) intended for or understood by only a chosen few, as an inner group of disciples or initiates: said of ideas, doctrines, literature, etc. b) beyond the understanding or knowledge of most people; recondite; abstruse
2. confidential; private; withheld
such that esoterica are teachings and documents that have been kept underground, both literally and figuratively. Reasons for keeping such teachings secret are many and varied; I’ll avoid that topic here. What our new age has brought us – in our opening up to new ideas, discoveries like that of the Nag Hammadi library, and perhaps most importantly of all, the internet – are ways to publish these teachings and make them accessible to all, or at least to “those who have ears to listen” and eyes to read.
I simply offer these particular pages as my own take on a couple topics of very personal interest to me. I would love at some point to see science and spirituality reconciled; I like to think that we’re getting closer each day. Not to prove the existence of God, but to understand that the Divine exists in each and every one of us, that we each have the power to create our own personal universe and that we’re creating it each moment with our actions, our words and perhaps most importantly, our very thoughts. This is the essence of all the esoteric teachings that I’ve studied. But the key – the Key, is in the purity of our Divine “expression”; how we express our inherent divinity each moment.
Alchemy’s stages of Calcination, Dissolution, Separation, Conjunction, Fermentation, Distillation and Coagulation are no more than phases we go through to temper our ego – the only way that we are able to find what’s truly Divine within us. There are any number of ways these days to do that very same thing. Read “A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose” by Eckhart Tolle, take the Landmark Forum, talk to someone who recognizes such things and let them be honest with you, work with some of these new energies. You’ll find your ego slipping from you or you’ll have it yanked and severed. Either way, you’ll be better off eventually, if you choose to learn from the experience. For now, more than ever, our choices have consequences. Look at what yours are teaching you and undertake to move beyond the apparent, the trivial and the easy. Undertake to be the highest expression of radiant light and love that you can possibly be. That is the lesson of Esoterica.
To date, I’ve only posted two essays I’ve written; one that explains my approach to and something of the inner workings of a Tarot layout and the other is my attempt to show how Astrology makes sense scientifically. It’s all about vibration and electro-magnetic energy. If you’re a physicist or a brain surgeon (or in any related field), I’d love to hear your thoughts.
